Microsoft is ready to assimilate yet another company, this time the giant Yahoo. Word is out that Bill Gates' empire offered a buy-out price of $31 per share, or 62% above yesterday's market value on NASDAQ.
Yahoo has been lagging in user services, falling well behind Google. But will Microsoft be regarded as a white knight or a Borgian take-over?
